Ashland Bus System


Paratransit service is transportation offered to those in the community who have a disability and are unable to travel on Ashland Bus System buses.   

Service Area

The Paratransit service covers Ashland, Catlettsburg, and Westwood.  Paratransit service is provided in the service area that is no more than ¾ of a mile on either side of any ABS route. 

Paratransit Identification Card

A Paratransit identification card must be shown to the bus driver every time the service is used.  The identification card verifies the individual is eligible for the Paratransit service.

Applications for Paratransit identification cards are available at the Transportation Center at 99 15th Street.  Certification will be granted on a permanent or temporary basis.  Temporary identification cards are available to visitors of the Ashland/Catlettsburg area and to temporary disabled persons.

Appointments

Advanced reservation for Paratransit service is required.  Passengers must call the day before to schedule an appointment.  Appointments may be reserved up to 30 days in advance.

Appointments may be scheduled by calling 606-327-2025 during office hours.  Appointment requests may be made after hours by leaving a message.  All appointments will be confirmed the next business day.

To cancel your appointment, please call two hours before your scheduled appointment.

Service will be provided to you within one hour before or after your preferred time.
