Want to learn more about how your city government works? Register now for the City of Ashland’s first ever Citizens AKademY!

Through this free program, we invite citizens to gain insight into the daily functions and responsibilities of every city department. During interactive sessions, attendees will gain valuable insights into the various facets of our city government's services, functions, and activities.

Our primary objectives of the academy are to empower citizens and stakeholders with a deeper understanding of city government operations, and encourage participation in volunteering for appointed boards, task forces, and commissions.

The academy will take place once a week, on Tuesdays, from 6-8 PM, for six weeks starting in February. Sessions will be held both at the city building and various departments/facilities around the city. The program requires a minimum attendance of four out of the six sessions in order for participants to receive a Certificate of Completion during the graduation ceremony at an Ashland Board of Commissioners Meeting.

Who’s eligible?

The Citizens AKademY is open to anyone above the age of 18. First priority will be given to City of Ashland residents. Registration will be first come, first serve.

How do I register?
