City of Ashland Real Estate Taxes are mailed July 1st of each year. There is a 1% discount if paid within the first 15 days and bills are due within 30 days. After the 30 days, there is a one-time 10% penalty assessed and 1/2% interest added each month, based on the balance due.
Floodwall Property Taxes are assessed in the floodwall district. Revenue from the floodwall assessments covers floodwall operating costs. These bills are also mailed on July 1st of each year and due within 30 days. After the 30 days, there is a one-time 10% penalty assessed and 1/2% interest added each month, based on the balance due.
The City of Ashland mails Ashland Independent School District Property Tax bills on October 1st of each year. There is a 1% discount if paid within the first 15 days and bills are due within 30 days. After the 30 days, there is a one-time 10% penalty assessed and 1/2% interest added each month, based on the balance due. The Ashland school board sets their own rates and the City of Ashland does the billing and collecting of funds.
Personal Property (Tangible) Tax are billed twice a year. The City of Ashland and Floodwall portions in August and Ashland Independent School District portions October 1st. Personal Property taxes are defined as physical property, usually movable, that has and of itself (ex: trade tools, fixtures, office equipment, inventory).
Ordinance number 99, 2019 is for real estate, personal property, and franchise taxes based on each $100.00 value.
