If you need a background report, you can get them from the Administrative Office of the Courts.
There are four (4) ways to get a Collision report* or incident/offense police report**
- Electronically - Collision Report (There is a $10.00 fee for each report. Payments can be made using MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card, American Express or PayPal.
- FAX - Incident/Offense Police Report (There is a $10.00 fee for each report. Payments can be made using MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card, American Express or PayPal.)
- Mail request to APD Records Division, PO Box 1864, Ashland, KY 41101.
- Pick up either report in person at 201 17th Street, Ashland, KY.
To locate an accident report, you will need:
- Your report number
- The report date
- Driver's last name or owner's last name

* Accident Reports are not public records. They may only be obtained by a party involved with proper ID (name must appear on the report), the insurance company's representative of the listed agency on the report or an attorney representing a listed party involved.
** Some Incident Reports are not public records and involved parties may be required to show ID in these instances.
